Once the children return to school for a new term, many city attractions become a little quieter and easier to get around, so many visitors to the city purposely put off their trip until then to make the most of their time staying at the Park Grand Paddington Court.

To help you plan your visit, we’ve created a list of reasons to travel to the capital in September. We have also picked a few of the biggest events arriving in the city then, so what are you waiting for? Get those bags packed and head to our 4-star hotels in London to enjoy a memorable few days away.

Stunning parks and green spaces

Bushy Parks, London

One of the best things about September in the city is that the colour palette of many of London’s popular parks and green spaces start to change to a more autumnal look. They are a perfect spot for a picnic and a great place for the budding nature photographer.

Nearby Hyde Park is just a short stroll away from the Park Grand Paddington Court. Head over to visit the Princess Diana Memorial garden complete with stunning water feature and a children’s play area – it’s always a little quieter once the new school year begins if you’re travelling mid-week.

You can also get your arts fix in this serene setting as the Serpentine Gallery and lake is located just a few minutes’ walk away. It features some of the latest contemporary pieces of artwork from talented artists around the globe, so it’s well worth a visit this September.

If all of that walking has given you an appetite, head back to the Park Grand Paddington Court for our delectable Indian afternoon tea London. It is as colourful and vibrant as the changing leaves in Hyde Park.

Running throughout September, the Totally Thames festival is designed to celebrate London’s most famous waterway and offers plenty of activities and exhibitions for you to get involved with.

Some of the highlights for this year’s festival include a look at the tradition of foraging on the river banks as well as some of the treasures discovered over the years. A slightly ‘scented’ exhibition outside the National Theatre charts the history of the river’s industrial past.

There is plenty to see and do taking place all over the embankment and river areas. The good news is, it’s easy to reach the festival via Tube from the Park Grand Paddington Court as the Tube station is located just a short stroll away. Be sure to check out what’s on offer before you check in to our 4-star hotels in London this September.

Just remember to bring a good pair of walking shoes and a Tube station map as many of the events are dotted around the city. Alternatively, why not use the river as a mode of transport during your stay and get an even better insight into the role the Thames plays in the daily lives of Londoners and tourists alike?
