Eat up – London’s Best Food and Famer’s Markets to Taste Your way Around the Capital

London Farmer Market

When it comes to whiling away a lazy Satuday afternoon or Sunday morning, there’s no better option than to browse a Farmer’s Market. London has plenty of Farmer’s Markets – easily accessible from hotels near Lancaster Gate Tube Station – selling sumptuous fruit and veg as well as flavoursome meat and fish, delicious baked goods, and even fresh coffee. Here are just four of our favourite Farmer’s Markets across the city, all held at the weekend and offering something for everyone to enjoy.

City & Country Farmer’s Market at Alexandra Palace

The City & Country Farmer’s Market has several venues around London, but we’d recommend the weekly market at Alexandra Palace. It’s held each Sunday from 10am to 3pm with more than 40 stalls full of farmers, bakers, and baristas. There’s fruit and veg, organic bread, fruit juices, coffee, milkshakes, cakes, biscuits, and, of course, meat and fish to try. All produce is locally grown, and there’s a bohemian atmosphere – you can enjoy it at one of the makeshift eating areas that spring up around the stalls.

Marylebone Farmer’s Market

If you’re looking for something a little more refined, Marylebone Farmer’s Market is certainly the place to go on a Sunday morning. Held in an area just off Marylebone High Street, you’ll find exquisite food from local farmers and artisans on over 40 different stalls. Amongst the regular stalls is the Potato Shop, which was voted market goers favourite stall in 2017. The stall, as you might assume, sells all manner of potatoes for your next dish – there’s a huge variety on offer, and the friendly stall owners are on hand to answer any questions.

Pimlico Road Farmer’s Market

In the quaint Orange Square, set back from Pimlico Road, you’ll find the Pimlico Farmer’s Market every Saturday between 9am and 1pm. A go-to for residents in Belgravia, Chelsea, and Pimlico, there’s a whole host of fresh produce on offer. There’s plenty of places to try your ready-to-eat purchases, with benches in the shade lining the square. It’s an idyllic farmers market in an idyllic setting, and not one you’ll want to miss!

South Kensington Farmer’s Market

Don’t expect a large-scale affair at the South Kensington Farmer’s Market. On average, there are around 18 stalls each week, but there’s certainly quality over quantity. The market is approved by FARMA, which means all of the produce sold on each of the stalls has been authentically grown, raised, or caught by the nursery, farm, or fisherman selling it. There’s a friendly atmosphere, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the sunshine on pleasant summer’s days. What more could you ask for?

If you’re looking for luxury hotels near Lancaster gate tube station, look no further than the Park Grand London. With elegant décor, spacious rooms, and our very own bar and fine dining restaurant, there’s no better place to return to after a day at the Farmer’s Market!
