Whether young or old, these all encompassing events are perfect for a christmas getaway, topped with some of the most luxurious accommodation with the Park Grand hotel chain.

Christmas lights in London

London has always been one of the leaders in the christmas light game. Whether you’re in the centre or on the outskirts of Croydon, there’s always a high street festively decorated. One of our go to’s for christmas decorations is in Trafalgar Square, where a huge annual christmas tree towers next to Nelson’s Column, bringing joy to all who pass. Oxford Street is always decked out with overhead lights as well, making late night shopping all the more magical. Even if you are just visiting for the day, seeing London twinkle ever brighter during Christmas is well worth the trip.

Ice rinks

One of the best things about the christmas season in London is that in almost every major park and historic site, an ice rink pops up. Somerset House hosts a late night ice rink complete with DJ sets by some of the cities best artists as well as light shows and a festive themed bar. The Natural History Museum often has an ice rink set up outside its historic doors too, making for a family friendly afternoon out between the Dinosaur and taxidermy exhibits.

Festive entertainment

If it’s theatre and dance you’re after, then look no further than the West End theatre scene, which hosts musicals, ballets and pantomimes throughout christmas. With Jack Thorne’s Pinocchio and the National Theatre and the Nutcracker Ballet being performed by the English national Ballet at the London Coliseum, all ages will find a show to usher in some much needed holiday spirit.
