The beautiful Queens Gardens area has a whole host of events in September to cater for every type of preferred tourist activity in Bayswater and Paddington.
For fans of the big screen the Odeon Whiteleys exclusive cinema The Lounge, in Queensway, provides all the current blockbusters but special theater events will be held in September with a screening of the live performance from the Royal Opera House of Turandot on the 17th of September. This will be followed by a live showing at the cinema of the hotly-anticipated Shakespeare play Othello performed at the South Bank on 26th of September.
For fans of sculpture visit nearby Kensington Gardens to see the first and only public work to be commissioned in the UK by Swiss artists Fischli and Weiss.
The unique sculpture, made of two igneous granite boulders, is called Rock on Top of another Rock and is a representation of the earliest and most basic types of monument.
Looking for someone to humour you then take a ten minute walk down the road to the Canal Cafe Theatre in Little Venice. Located above the Bridge House Pub, the theatre offers a selection of comedy and new writing in a very cosy setting. As we wait for a fourth installment of the film franchise why not visit the theatre on one of the nights between the 19th to the 21st of September to watch Jurassic Park: The Musical to laugh your heart out at a spoof adaptation of the 1993 film.
For an extra shot of culture near Queens Gardens visit the Serpentine Gallery to see award-winning Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto’s design for the annual Serpentine Gallery Pavilion project.
This year Fujimoto has designed a delicate structure that merges the natural and man-made creating steel bar construction surrounding the verdant plant life.
Queens Gardens is an ideal place to stay with a tremendous amount of events in and around the area.
